Gruppo Valore Outdoor

GVO (Gruppo Valore Outdoor) is the name of a spontaneous group made up of outdoor-specialized companies and retailers that have decided to act to protect the value of their brands and stores.

The initiative aims to raise awareness among all Italian retailers in the sector about the timing of end-of-season sales, with the goal of postponing the start of sales to a period more suitable for the outdoor market. Currently, national regulations—with some local variations—set dates that are too early, preventing regular sales and negatively impacting store margins.

Brands Participating in the Initiative

The GVO project aims to provide a self-regulated response by postponing the start of sales by approximately one month. This timeframe is considered fair and beneficial for both the industry and retailers, making commercial dynamics sustainable for both without compromising product value or consumer benefits. Consumers will thus be able to make purchases at a fair price, at the true end of the sales season.

Promote the initiative within your store

For the benefit of all, it is essential that as many retailers as possible join this important project.

We have created a visual graphic with a message aimed at end consumers, designed to protect not only the value of the mountains but also—most importantly—the products and companies that represent them. Retailers will be provided with a communication kit for both their stores and social media channels.

The message focuses on preserving value, responding with a “NO THANKS” to the idea of a “HALF-SIZED MOUNTAIN,” and informing that end-of-season sales are simply postponed to the true end of the sales season.
